Establishing Insurance “Takaful” Operator in Canada
SDQ Trading Establishment of Bahrain (the ”Sponsor”) has signed an agreement with Ernst & Young / Islamic Financial Group Advisory of the Middle East on November 19, 2009 to establish a portfolio of Sharia compliant financial services in Canada. The Sponsor is embarking on a major initiative to establish a Takaful business in Canada with the purpose of introducing Islamic Insurance in the Canadian market.
  • Ernst & Young / Islamic Financial Group of Bahrain and the Middle East, will be the Sponsors Corporate Advisors,
  • Law firm, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP of Toronto will represent the Sponsors with their application and the filling procedures with the Canadian Regulatory Authorities.
  • Law firm, McLeod & Company of Calgary, Alberta will represent the Sponsors Corporate Commercial legal matters.
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers will be the Sponsors Corporate Auditors and tax matters
